Middle School Male Athlete of the Week

Dylan Turk – Lacrosse

Dylan scored 4 goals and added an assist in wins against Ransom Everglades and Palmetto.

Middle School Female Athlete of the Week

Yakira Wardlaw – Tennis

Yakira won her singles match against Doral Academy and her singles and doubles match against Gulliver.

Upper School Male Athlete of the Week

Kian Andersen – Baseball

Kian went a combined 3 for 6 with 5 RBI and 2 homeruns in wins against marathon High School and Hialeah Educational Academy.

Upper School Female Athlete of the Week

Maddie Hertz – Water Polo

Maddie led the Spartans with 4 goals in their 14-3 district win against Miami High.

On Tuesday…..The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (9-4) came from behind to beat Miami High on Senior Night 12-10.  Sebastian Rodriguez led the way with 3 goals, an assist, 2 blocks, and 3 steals, Zachary Smith had 3 goals, an assist, 2 blocks, and 3 steals, Jonathan Abramowitz added 3 goals, Alec Rosen had a goal and 3 assists, Max Berlowitz and Sam Smith each added a goal, and Christian Claramonte had 1 assist, 2 steals, and 17 blocks.  TheGirls Varsity Water Polo Team (8-4) beat Miami High on Senior Night 14-3.  Maddie Hertz led the way with 4 goals and an assist, Amelia Gregorio had 3 goals, 3 assists, and 2 steals, Yasmine Bazzi had 2 goals, 2 assists, and a steal, Patricia Puppin had 2 goals and a steal, Madisyn Jones scored and had 7 steals, Yakira Matisonn and Isabella Pedraza each added a goal, and Gaby Palmisano had 3 assists, 3 steals, and 10 blocks.   The Varsity Baseball Team (5-8) came from behind to beat Hialeah Educational Academy 7-6.  Jordan Sale was 3 for 4, drove in Connor Goodman with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth, and threw 5 strong innings allowing 2 runs, Connor Goodman was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, and Kian Andersen was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and a homerun.  The Boys Middle School Baseball Team (1-6) lost to Gulliver 12-2.  Jake Goldberg played well on defense.

In Wednesday’s Athletic Action…..The Junior Varsity Lacrosse Team (4-6) lost to Belen 7-6.  Noah Reines and Marlon Robins each scored 2 goals,  Kyle Garg and Ben Horn each scored, Evan Mendelson had 3 assists, Remy Cross added an assist, and Anthony Cervone and Sebastian Oliveria each played well.  The Varsity Lacrosse Team (3-7) lost to Belen 17-2.  Tyler Grosman scored both goals on assists from Matthew Barron and Ryan Finvarb, and David Burger, Arthur Cohen, and John Sayfie all played well.  The Middle School (JV) Lacrosse Team (3-5) lost to Ransom Everglades in overtime 5-4.    Lucas Zayden scored 2 goals, Mikey Port added a goal, Mitchell Koch had a goal and an assist, Daniel Estupinan added an assist, and Julian Chariff made 14 saves in goal.

Today….The Softball Team hosts Curley at 7pm (Live-streamed Event), and the Girls andBoys Middle School Water Polo Teams travel to Ransom Everglades at 4/5pm.

Important Parking Information
All parking for events hosted on campus will be located at the off-site parking lot at Barry University. We will provide continuous shuttle bus service for all MCDS events from this parking lot location. There will be two shuttle buses running at all times from the Barry University parking lot to the MCDS Pool Parking Lot located on 107th Street. All event guests should allow an additional 20 minutes in their schedule for parking at Barry University and for the shuttle bus service. This will provide enough time to arrive on time for the event. The parking lot located at 11501 NW 5th Ave. Miami, Florida 33168.
