Athletics Update 10/13
Soccer team off to a great start!
November 13, 2014
In Wednesday’s Athletic Events……The Girls Varsity Soccer Team (3-2) beat Sagemont 8-0. Amanda Martin led the way with 3 goals, and Ava Hansen, Mary Elizabeth Allen, Laureen Jean-Jacques, Yakira Matisonn, and Mila Boano all scored. The Boys Middle School Soccer Team (1-0) beat South Florida Heat 8-0. Anthony Cervone led the way with 3 goals, Corso Luciano played well on defense, and Jake Wasserstein scored his first career goal. The Girls Middle School Soccer Team (1-0) beat South Florida Heat 3-1. Alicia Rodriguez, Andrea Fritella, and Maddie Sukhdeo each scored, Mia Batista, Allison Rodriguez, and Molli Leoni each added an assist, and Alexa Altman, and Maria Silva played well on defense. The Boys Varsity Soccer Team (1-4) lost to Sagemont 2-0.
In Today’s Action…..The Girls and Boys Middle School Soccer Teams host Gulliver at 4pm/5:30pm, the Girls Varsity Basketball Team travels to Hialeah Educational Academy at 5:30pm, and the Boys Varsity Basketball Team hosts St. Brendan in a pre-season game at 7:30pm.

Middle School Female Athlete of the Week
Gaby Marchesani – Swimming
Gaby helped her 200 Individual Medley relay team qualify for States.
Middle School Male Athlete of the Week
Ryan Mendelson – Cross Country
Ryan finished sixth for the Spartans and 40th overall in helping to lead the team to a runner-up trophy at Regionals.
Upper School Male Athlete of the Week
Alex Cohen – Cross Country
Alex finished first for the Spartans and 5th overall in helping to lead the team to a runner-up trophy at Regionals.
Upper School Female Athlete of the Week
Amanda Martin – Soccer
Amanda scored nine goals in wins against Hillel and ATM.
On Friday….The Girls Varsity Soccer Team travels to Marathon at 5pm, the Boys Varsity SoccerTeam hosts International Studies at 7pm, and the Boys Varsity Basketball Team hosts Ransom Everglades in a pre-season game at 7:30pm.
